My husband and I are in the planning stages of building a log home in Mt. Juliet, TN which is about 20 min. East of Nashville. After reading the horror stories posted here, and dealing with a now bankrupt builder for the house we are currently in (not a log home and fortunately 98% finished when he went under), I am really anxious about finding a solid recommendation for a builder. I had hoped we could find one through whichever log home company we wind up with, but that does not sound like it is the best route to go. Also, anyone have recommendations for a supply/log home company? I read one review about Southland being kind of cheap but know there are several others in TN and I am assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that it will save us some money if the company is local?

Thanks!

Kratie, read up on the company that owns Southland prior to making your purchase.

When selecting a builder, ask to see the last 3 LOG homes they built. Speak to the owners. Check the dates when the homes were finished to ensure that those are the last three. Ask the builder for a current financial statement. Go as far as looking at the builder's home and their work vehicles to see if they are "junky"; a junky home or vehicle denotes a lack of pride.

Kratie,

Chech out Highlands Log Structures in Abington VA. If you are looking for BIG LOGS and a handcrafted home, I would suggest them. They are doing our home and we've spent many months looking at various manufacturers before deciding on them. There are probably a few in your neck of the woods that you should be able to see that they've constructed.

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice! We have not made any decisions yet but will undoubtedly have more questions as we go!

Advertise a Drawing in Golf Game

Most golfers may know that it is important to own the callaway diablo edge irons. What helps make that R9 a fully adjustable club may be the mixture from the FCT along with MWT. Put that 16-gram weight inside the heel port to advertise a drawing, inside the toe port to advertise a fade, along with inside the middle for a neutral ball journey. If you buy your callaway x-24 hot irons following my tips, you can save a lot of money. ishiner
