| Update on windows | |
| As show in my post of 2004 we still like the windows we installed in 1997, but we (winter 2009/2010) recently have had many problems such as air leakage and seal failure between glass. I still appreciate this company and the way they honored the failures and replacement of seals and sashes for the first several years. They stood behind their product, It is now time to replace all the windows in this loghome due to the problems we are having with them. My only complaint I felt the windows should have been trouble free for 20-25 years.
We are no longer a rep for Southland Log Homes. |

| Windows and doors | |
| The windows and doors came with the package from Amerlink. The windows do not seal when they are locked. The grill work is terrible to deal with. They do not "cling" to door or window and they are always falling out. |

| Poor Quality | |
| These windows & doors are some of the worst on the markey! The windows will not work properly and air tightness and filtration is terrible. The doors are even worse. Try another name brand |

| Problem Solver | |
| We built a log home in 1997.We purchased it and also became a dealer for Southland Log Homes.Yes we did have a few problems with the Biltbest windows. But they made two trips to our home and supplied the parts and replacement sashes to correct the problems. These trips were over 300 miles one way.The problem is most people forget to use good manners and respect others.Remember the person who answered your call can help serve you much better if you treat them politely and hopefully the way you would like to be treated. |

| I believe these windows are the worse windows I have had to deal. The quality is sub-standard and they sell windows with the incorrect rating for areas with code restrictions. They are a window designed for tract housing, not log homes. I have NEVER been able to get the manufacture to return a call, e-mail or except a certified letter. |
